ARARAT CENTER
SPONSORS UNIQUE WEEKEND DESIGNED FOR FATHERS & SONS
April 18 (GREENVILLE, NY) – “Build it and He will come”
is the theme set for a unique weekend planned for fathers and their
sons to be held at the Ararat Center in Greenville, NY, on June
16-18.
This first-ever gathering, sponsored by the Ararat Center Board
of Directors, will explore the relationship between fathers and
sons, build ties that bind, all while enjoying special time together
in the scenic and serene Catskills Mountains.
The program has been designed with a casual feel beginning Friday
late-afternoon with check-in and a delicious barbecue cookout followed
by ice breakers, campfire and an evening discussion. Saturday morning
starts off with a hearty breakfast and offsite activities of choice
including golf, fishing, horseback riding, hiking or conoeing. Or,
if you are not the sporty-type, there are also onsite activities
and work projects offered, or simply enjoy a couple of hours of
quality time with one another. Later in the morning and throughout
the afternoon, a chartered bus will transport the group to Cooperstown,
NY, to enjoy the Baseball Hall of Fame or other sites of choice
while there. That same evening, back at the Ararat Center, a short
evening service will be conducted to wrap up the days events. Sunday
will include Divine Liturgy, a home cooked brunch and closing activities.
Registration for this weekend is $350 for a father and one son
aged 14 and older. Each additional son is only $125 more. The registration
fee includes two nights lodging at the Ararat Center, five homecooked
meals, snacks, an organized program with a professional facilitator,
campfires and other social and sporting activities, transportation
to Cooperstown, and a participant’s shirt.
It’s the perfect Father’s Day gift that will last a
lifetime. There are not many places or opportunities for a father
and son to get away for an entire weekend together, and return fulfilled
in Christian camaraderie.
