TWO GREAT
PROGRAMS, ONE GREAT PLACE
Ararat Center sponsors
unique fall events
Greenville, NY – The Ararat Center Board of Directors announces
two exciting October programs that offer a distinctive appeal to
a variety of groups within the Armenian community: a Catskill
Getaway and a Father & Son Weekend.
Remember Catskilleen Jampan?
The days of sitting in lawn chairs viewing the majestic Catskill
Mountain foliage, that tavloo game with an old friend, a card
game with new acquaintances, or dancing the night away to sounds
of Armenian classics are all reminiscent of the Castkilleen Jampan
days. This coming October you can have it all again at
the Ararat Center.
During Columbus Day weekend of October 6-11, spend either three
or five nights at the Ararat Center located in Greenville, NY,
for a relaxing “Catskill Getaway” geared towards families
and senior-aged individuals. An Activities Coordinator will be
on hand to offer recreational programs such as fitness and nutrition
classes, movie nights, crafts, bingo, tavloo tournaments, and much
more. Plan to attend this family-friendly get-together that promises
a memorable time for all.
Fathers & Sons Weekend Gathering
“If you build it, He will come” is the theme for another unique
fall weekend planned for fathers and their sons set for October 20-22. Originally
scheduled to be held this past June, this event was postponed for the fall
in order to reach a wider range of families. Fathers with their sons
ages 12 and older, will explore their relationship with one another all while
enjoying special time together in the serene Catskill Mountains.
This program has been designed with a casual feel beginning Friday
late-afternoon with check-in and a delicious barbecue cookout followed
by ice breakers, campfire and an evening discussion. Saturday
morning starts off with a hearty breakfast and offsite activities
of choice including golf, fishing, horseback riding, hiking or
conoeing. Or, if you are not the sporty-type, there are also
onsite activities and work projects offered, or simply enjoy a
couple of hours of quality time with one another. Later in
the morning and throughout the afternoon, a chartered bus will
transport the group to Cooperstown, NY, to enjoy the Baseball Hall
of Fame or other sites of choice while there. That same evening,
back at the Ararat Center, a short evening service will be conducted
to wrap up the days events. Sunday will include Divine Liturgy,
a home cooked brunch and closing activities.

of these two events that offer Christian camaraderie in the relaxed,
scenic setting of the Ararat Center.
